William Tomlin

Based in Jacksonville, Tomlin serves as a USF SafetyFlorida consultant to employers in southeast Florida. Concurrently, Mr. Tomlin is the course chairman for the USF OSHA Training Institute’s (OTI) Respiratory Protection Program and the training institute’s Principles of Ergonomics Applied to Work Related Musculoskeletal and Nerve Disorders. For the past seven years, Mr. Tomlin has been an instructor for several OTI classes, including but not limited to Guide to Industrial Hygiene, Collateral Duty Course for Other Federal Agencies, and Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry. Additionally, Mr. Tomlin is an authorized OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainer and Construction Outreach Trainer.

Mr. Tomlin earned his Master’s of Science in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Since then, he has put together 15 years of air- and noise-sampling experience, including working for both construction and manufacturing employers as a safety manager. He has experience working with workers’ compensation insurers to minimize claim costs and has developed a behavior-based safety awards program.
